Volunteer Opportunities
Grace Church has many volunteer opportunities available.
Serving others gives us a deeper purpose and helps us establish a
connection with others. It allows us to follow Christ’s example and
teaches us about humility and selflessness. Volunteering helps us
make a difference in other people’s lives. Where can you use your
God-given gifts to serve?
Training will be provided. If interested in any of the below, please sign up at the Welcome
Centre (unless otherwise stated).
Media Team
The Media Team is looking for additional members to assist each Sunday with running
PowerPoint and Livestream on YouTube. Full training will be provided.

Welcome Centre Team Ministry
A new Welcome Centre is being set up to assist
newcomers, help with sign-ups, answer questions, receive Connection Cards,
guide people to relevant information in Grace Notes, and assist parents with
children registering for Kids Church prior to the service. Two team members will
serve each Sunday for 20 minutes before the service and from 12 – 12:30 pm,
once a month. Please sign up at the Welcome Centre and you will be connected with the team
Grace CRC McCowan Food Bank
Volunteers enjoy wonderful fellowship as we
serve together. You are invited to join in this ministry - signup for a few
hours on 1 or more Thursdays:
ï‚· sort and bag and setup food for distribution 11 am to 2 pm
ï‚· monitor food distribution stations 4:20 - 7:30 pm

Sunday Hospitality Coordinator & Volunteers
Fellowship time after the
worship services on Sunday is important for connection. Enjoying refreshments just
enhances the experience. Volunteers are needed to prepare, serve, and clean up after the
refreshments. We need two-person teams to volunteer for this hospitality ministry and a
coordinator to schedule the teams and obtain supplies for each Sunday.
Safe Church Team Member
To ensure the safety of all of our children and
vulnerable individuals, we need volunteers to maintain and update our policies and
procedures.
Community Garden Team
If you go to the back of the Grace Church/Immanuel Child Care Centre Property to what we call the “Over the Hill Green Space,” You will see on the north side a 20 feet by 70 feet
Community Garden. Once grown, the food will be given to the Grace CRC McCowan Food Bank. If you would like to volunteer to help in taking care of this garden, please sign up at the Welcome Centre and you will be connected with the team
Kids Church Mentor/Teacher
Volunteers are needed to mentor children in Grades JK to 2 and Grades 3 to 5. Material and training will be provided. If you are interested, please sign up at as a Volunteer at the Welcome Centre.
Building & Grounds Team
This team will meet monthly in person for one hour
to support Sarath on small projects, mobilize volunteers for the projects to be
done, and schedule quarterly times to wash our windows.This team will also work with
our Custodians to train multiple volunteers able to help
on Saturday evening cleaning so the Custodians can
sometimes have a Saturday off. Please sign up at the Welcome Centre and you will be connected with the team
Equipment is provided. Sign-up at the Welcome Centre if you can do any of these:

Mow & trim the lawn around the Church --> takes 2 hours weekly for one person to do using the lawn mower and weed whipper.

Mow & trim the lawn behind Immanuel Child Care Centre and Over the Hill Green Space --> takes 3 hours weekly for one person to do.

Weed gardens and trimming shrubs around the Church --> takes 1 hour weekly for one person to do. NOTE: Trimming the big shrubs requires a ladder from inside the building.

Maintaining the mowing & trimming equipment which includes charging the weed trimmers and finding a reliable repair person to fix the equipment when needed. Also ensuring we use the highest octane of gas for the mowers.
